EXECUTION BY EXTRADITION
by James Robinson, Death Row, San Quentin, California
The time's come, a teary-eye has weeped its wept; had not
my spirit been so poor, mine mind's eye would have
slept. To him I once withstood, twice endured, and thrice times
proved; "their" fop last not, nor understood, that base
things wax not against "their" better brood. Tis a Noble shame, this savage name, tamed
civility and civility tamed; so lame applauded by the main,
this "politic" game of lunar fame. 'Twas death by which it
came, and by same, it ends aim. My meager optics, myopic, wage age before their times; my
tears, no long majority but in minority, plagiarize a mighty
mime. To him, their Fop so cleverly cloaked, we weep for you a
solicitous note; while sibilant-sly duplicitous jokes are
tongued by malicious dotes.

See this I, another time though again, through damp washed eyes; that vengeance glib, no small abatement, in haste diminished compassion's reprise. So, we rant and rave when one has misbehaved, and Anger's crave shall pave a tidalwave; to save a law once gave, yet...we lave a stave of "Public Servant" Knaves??? Tis a "Politic" stew and a Devil's brew, of a few...whose morals, analogously, have bade adieu. Peace & Mercy be upon you. (In memory of Slim executed 1/99) |

Editor's Note: On January 12, 1999, two days after his 38th birthday, Kelvin "Slim" Malone was executed by the State of Missouri. He had lived on San Quentin's Death Row since 1983, when he was sent there for a California conviction. However, while his appeals were still in process in California, Missouri extradited him in order to have yet another killing to their credit. In the years that Slim was at San Quentin he made many friends - some of them even talked to him only hours before he was killed - and he is sadly missed in the Visiting Room.
