There is an immoral, illegal war going on in Afghanistan.
Civilians are dying. Hospitals are being bombed. Cluster bomblets are killing children. A humanitarian catastrophe is underway, to join the one that has gone on for so many years in Iraq because of US sanctions. The numbers of America's enemies are growing daily.
The administration tells us we're fighting "terrorism" when the truth is they're fighting for access to oil and gas reserves in the Caspian Basin.
They're fighting to install a "friendly" government in Afghanistan so that they can build their pipeline through there.
They're fighting to liquidate swollen military armament inventories so their buddies in the military-industrial complex can get enriched again building replacements.
They're fighting so that they can unfurl their assault on our civil liberties and the Bill of Rights under cover of foreign threat.
They're fighting to divert attention away from failing western markets.
They're fighting to divert attention away from the fast-growing anti-globalization movement.
They may even be fighting to maintain their control over the international drug trade which has been estimated to add between $250 billion and $300 billion per year to the cash flow of Wall Street and US banks.
Certainly, they're not fighting terrorism or they'd be bombing Saudi Arabia.
They're not doing anything for the reasons they are telling us. They have their own agenda. It's not the agenda of the vast majority of the American people. Only, the vast majority of the American people are being misled.
We won't know the truth if our freedoms are stripped away.
