Bohemian Grove Logging Spokesman
Attacks Goldman Award Winners

September 2008

Sam Singer, eponymous principal of a high-powered San Francisco-based public relations firm, is chief spokesman for the Bohemian Club concerning a long-running controversy over commercial logging of the Grove property. Bohemian Club members must be proud to be so ably represented.

Singer was recently condemned by Amazon Watch for designing Chevron's campaign to attack the reputations of Amazon rainforest activists who won the Goldman Award for environmental heroism.

Singer recently attacked the National Park Service while in the employ of a private company which had pushed to extend certain lease rights beyond a congressionally imposed deadline. Singer's client lost and the Park Service was found to have acted fairly.

Singer's behavior in the Grove controversy has run along familiar lines and includes presenting distorted and confusing information to Club members and the public, attacking critics of the plan personally and evading legitimate questions from the media.
