Bohemian Grove Action 2007

No protest is planned this year at the gates to the exclusive and secretive all-male BOHEMIAN GROVE in Monte Rio in Northern California. Since 1980 a coalition of peace, justice and environmental groups has called attention to the annual gathering of the financial, governmental, corporate and military elite that gather each year during the last two weeks of July.

Ironically because of the Bush policies keeping the activist community busy there will be no organized protest this year.

“Thirty years ago the average person did not have the basic understanding of the corporate and government collusion that so impacts our lives today, said Mary Moore, one of the original organizers of the coalition from 1980. “Because of the George Bush presidency (son of Bohemian Grove member George H.W. Bush) the corruption and manipulation of our government is much more obvious now to the average citizen,” she said.

Each year at Bohemian Grove there are daily LAKESIDE TALKS given by prominent people in key corporate, military, financial and governmental circles. These talks are given with absolutely no public scrutiny although they are often harbingers of public policy. “We have often said that the ideas floated at the Grove Encampment every year will impact the rest of us in the future,” said Moore. Topics such as STAR WARS, REARMING AMERICA, THE PERSIAN GULF CRISIS, OIL, NUCLEAR ENERGY, DEFINING A NEW WORLD ORDER, CHURCH, STATE & THE CONSTITUTION (Antonin Scalia) and WHY AMERICA MUST LEAD have been just a few of the subjects talked about by such men as HENRY KISSINGER, RICHARD NIXON, ADM. JAMES WOOLSEY, GEORGE SCHULTZ, DICK CHENEY, HELMUT SCHMIDT, and PRINCE BANDAR BIN SULTAN of Saudi Arabia and other members and guests at the Grove.
